MOMENTS IN PODIATRIC HISTORY

July 1, 1912: 225 charter members gathered in Chicago to organize a national association dedicated to the needs of practicing Chiropodists (later termed Podiatrists)

December 7, 1941: with the bombing of Pearl Harbor, America at last entered World War II. Nearly 37% of National Association of Chiropodists (NAC) members served in the armed services during the war.

1943: Through his "Keep America Marching" campaign, NAC Executive Director, William J. Stickel, DSC, aggressively promoted podiatry and its role in defending the nation by issuing press releases about NAC members’ service and running a full-page ad in Life Magazine..
