I was very honored to be installed as the President of the Connecticut Podiatric Medical Association at the February Symposium.

We have many initiatives for our Board to address this year. Our top priority will be to work with the Kowalski Group and our membership as we move legislatively to change the burdensome ankle law. We want to ensure that all well-trained Podiatric surgeons can fully utilize their surgical skills to best serve their patients and our communities. I will also work closely with the CPMA public relations committee, the newly established CPMA Foundation, and our members around the state to engage in community service and outreach programs. July 1, 1912: 225 charter members gathered in Chicago to organize a national association dedicated to the needs of practicing Chiropodists (later termed Podiatrists)

December 7, 1941: with the bombing of Pearl Harbor, America at last entered World War II. Nearly 37% of National Association of Chiropodists (NAC) members served in the armed services during the war.

1943: Through his "Keep America Marching" campaign, NAC Executive Director, William J. Stickel, DSC, aggressively promoted podiatry and its role in defending the nation by issuing press releases about NAC members’ service and running a full-page ad in Life Magazine..
